How to applyAll interested in applying for either the GPVTS three year scheme or the one year GP Registrar posts, must apply through the central screening house of the London Deanery or London Department of Postgraduate and Medical and Dental Education (LPMDE). Please note application forms are NOT available through the scheme, nor are we involved in setting up the interviews. GPVTS three year scheme Adverts for all the GPVTS schemes appear in the BMJ classifieds usually in the January and July issues each year. For the scheme posts, a general application form, available from the London Deanery must be filled in stating which GP schemes you are interested in and in order of preference. A shortlist is then prepared and candidates asked to attend interview. Please if you are interested in Hackney and us contact us via our contact numbers so we can talk to you. One year GP Registrar posts Those of you interested in the one year GP registrar posts also fill in an application form from the London Department of Postgraduate GP Education. Application forms are screened by them for:
After screening all who satisfy the criteria above are interviewed by a Postgraduate Dean and a panel, and are then ranked. If successful the candidate can choose three areas (e.g. Hackney) to apply for the one year post. What happens next varies. We generally inform you of which vacancies we have and you visit in order to make your selection.
