Paediatrics

There is a Children's Emergency Assessment Unit located in the A&E Department supported by the ambulatory Paediatric service on Starlight Children’s Unit.

Children's services (Starlight)

The Starlight Children’s Unit cares for children up to the age of 16. All care is delivered by staff trained to look after children; we practice family-centred care, which takes into consideration each families’ needs.

Starlight children's unit

The unit provides around the clock access for urgent GP referrals and children-only outpatient clinics. Many emergency admissions come via our Children’s Emergency Assessment (CEA) unit where children may be observed for a short while or have necessary investigations done before being either discharged home or admitted to the Starlight children’s ward.
