Accident and Emergency
 This post offers an opportunity to gain experience in acute general medicine and acute traumatology in two A&E departments. The post is divided between the Homerton Hospital and the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel.
Both hospitals serve similarly deprived inner city populations and provide excellent exposure to all aspects of medicine, much of it very similar to the workload of an inner city GP.
Both hospitals are supported by the same group of three A&E Consultants and one Consultant in Primary Care. There is and Induction Day, an Introductory Course (2 weeks) and thereafter regular weekly teaching (3 hours Friday am). The GP trainee is released for the half-day release course.
